How is the RAID Championship scored?

New in 2014 is the RAID Championship! Each Urban RAID in the 2014 series is an opportunity for racers to earn points towards the overall standings. In every RAID, male and female runners will earn points for their finishing place among the gender standings. Male racers receive 1 point for every male racer they finish ahead of, the same for female racers. (e.g Female racer who finishes in 1st place in a race with 500 total female finishers will receive 499 points. Male racer who finishes 490th out of 500 male racers would receive 10 points).

Standings will be updated following every Urban RAID. RAID Champions will be crowned following the Finals. Prizing to be announced shortly!

How many racers make up a team?

Three racers are required to qualify for team awards. There are three divisions (Male, Female, and Co-Ed) that will each receive separate awards. Teams can have up to 10 racers. Teams are not required to finish together but are guaranteed to start the race in the same wave.

IS THE RAID TIMED?

Yep! All registration options (Premium, Standard, Base) include chip timing for each racer. The Chip Timing will be located on the racer bib and a shoe tag that will be provided at Packet Pickup. Additionally, the RAID does offer a Non-Competitive division for racers that can be selected in registration. This allows the racer to run untimed at your own pace!

CAN VOLUNTEERS RUN THE RACE?

UNFORTUNATELY, ALL VOLUNTEERS ARE ON COURSE FOR THE DURATION OF THE EVENT SO THEY’RE NOT ABLE TO RUN THE RACE. WE DO OFFER A SHIRT, BEER, AND BREAKFAST TO ALL THE VOLUNTEERS FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS!
